Hello Retirees,

New things are brewing here at the Local regarding the Retirees’ Club. 

We have formed a voluntary Steering Committee to propel us to greater heights.  It is our hope to move in the direction that you all want and expect. Volunteering are Lillian Delgado, DeLise Temple and Vinell Williams of the Retiree Group along with Cheryl Palermo, Jo Ann Marinkos and myself from the Local. Our first order of business was to mail our members a survey, to discover their interests and goals.

Our purpose is a concentrated effort to get more members involved and to raise the level of enthusiasm by having a direct purpose for our “special” club.  We have the honor of being one of only two Locals in District One who are charter members of the CWA Retired Members’ Council.  We have a framed certificate from Washington that makes it official.  The Steering Committee feels that by stating our purpose in a formal Mission Statement and having By Laws will enable the public to know what we are all about.

Next meeting is Tuesday, September 28th at noon.  The results will be announced with discussion to follow.  Let the voting begin.
